A simple way to cloak your links

It’s always a good idea to hide, redirect, cloak, mask (whatever you want to call it) your affiliate links on your landing pages. There are tons of ways to do this, but here is one of the quickest and easiest methods.

1. Download this sample file, which uses a php redirect header. In this example it is called link.php.

2. Change the sample link in the file to your own link, rename the file whatever you would like with a .php extension.

3. Upload this file to your web server. In this example say it’s a domain called www.money.com

4. Now you can use the link www.money.com/link.php to call the affilate link that you placed in the simple php file.

It doesn’t get any easier than that.

To keep up with a lot of basic questions that our readers have, I have decided to start an ongoing series called “Affiliate 101″. These will all be filed in a category of the same name to make it easy for people starting out to find answers to common affiliate and PPC problems. I am working on some posts right now, but if you have a specific basic affiliate marketing question you would like answered, please post them in the comments section.
