With all the talk of recession and financial doom lately, what offers will work and what will tank in a declining economy? I wish I had a crystal ball to say for sure, but I think its safe to make a few generalizations.
I see hard product offers like on Commision Junction, Shareasale, and Amazon declining in conversion rates. I don’t think people will be purchasing as many non-necessary products in a recession. Impulse items like ringtones will probably keep declining too.
As people have less money, some offers should have much stronger demand. Here are 3 niches I would consider.
1. Debt relief offers should continue to trend up. CX Digital has 2 good offers in this space that both pay out on 1 page forms.
Examples:
Offer #4108 New leaf debt solutions has a $17.50 CPA
Offer #3921 Debt relief lead gen has a $22.00 CPA
2. People will need more short term loans. Neverblue has some good offers in this niche.
Examples:
Offer #2452 Pay advance center has a $21.00 CPA
Offer #2144 Secure money store has a $15.00 CPA
(This offer is also adding a 75% rev share for up to $45 payout)
Offer #2926 Smart credit source $1.85 CPA on email submit
3. People will want to keep up with their credit reports as the recession wears on. Azoogle has a killer offer for credit reports.
Example:
Offer #6158 Get your offical credit report $19.75 CPA
(with no search restrictions)
These are the kind of financial offers I predict will heat up as the economic news continues to worsen. So now is the time to prepare for these trends.

it seems you read my mind hahaha
direct to the bone thank youuu
I guess recession is not here yet, since I got my ass whooped last week promoting credit check and short term loans. lol
loans and Credit checks are a tough market but you can get in and be profitable just takes more work.
[...] The free wheeling days of people taking equity out of their homes and buying things they don’t need may be gone. But there are still plenty of money making opportunities out there. Chad of CDF Networks recently created this post about CPA offers to run in a recession. [...]
thanks for giving us specific offers to look at. i only have neverblue right now, need to join others.
Chad,
I’ve been looking at Keywords for both of these niches to start and it seems highly competitive, running from $4-$10 a click, even on long tail lists I’ve tried to create, obviously that doesn’t makes sense for even a $20 offer. I am using Wordze and the free keyword tools, and am running my campaigns on Yahoo! to get started in Aff marketing. Any advice or articles on effective Keyword research? I was also wondering if there is a trick with Yahoo to find bid prices on individual kw’s enabling one to strip away the expensive ones. At the moment I just do this by trial and error and its rather time consuming. Thanks
