Goals for 2008

Before I get to some really killer posts next week, it’s a good time to reflect on goals I’d like to achieve for 2008.

  • My number 1 goal is to finish creating my own offer to run on the affiliate networks by March 1st. The affiliate side of things is great, but everyone knows the merchant running the offer is making the real money. It’s turning out to be an enormous amount of work, but it should be ready soon.
  • Go through every single campaign for a major overhaul. Every keyword, every ad group, every landing page. Re-optimize everything.
  • Have this blog redesigned. Yes, I know it’s ugly and dated. I hope people come back for the content not the package it’s in. But, it really needs a new look.
  • Establish this blog as the source for #1 PPC to affiliate marketing. I’d like to keep this blog focused and on topic. Google seems to like that already – they are still the top source of traffic.
  • Outsource more work. This is an ongoing issue always, but I really need to offload some more tasks.
  • Establish more sites driven by organic traffic.
  • Work less. Hopefully I can automate more and more things so I can work less hours per day.
  • Take more non work related trips.
  • Give more money to charity. Those of us doing well in this industry should try to give more back to people in need. I have a site in the pipeline that will help do just that.

That’s all I can think of for now, and more importantly all I can reveal. Gotta keep some secrets:)

Well Chad, the fact that Affiliates don’t have to deal with customers is really great in my opinion. You don’t have to deal with complaints, return of the product, guarantee and all that stuff. I don’t know if the merchant is making more in the end if you count all those things in.

Most of the profit goes to the manufacturer, that’s what I would go for, but I’d avoid being a merchant, dealing with customers can be a real pain.. :o

Cheers, Andreas

Nice to know that people succeed by knowing where they are going.

Andreas- Great points, I agree completely. The offer I am creating is not going to involve any customers or products though. Mostly moving leads from one place to another :)
