Inactivity charges Pulse360?

One of the smaller PPC services we have tested is called Pulse360. (Purposely not linking to them). We made a small $100 deposit to do some testing, and ended up pausing the campaigns after so so results. Like every other service I have ever used, I expected the balance to remain there until I was ready for more testing. Imagine my surprise when I got an email from them stating that they had removed $10 from my account for “inactivity charges”. I have to say this is a totally lame and cheap way to squeeze money from an already paying customer. You could have gotten tons of money from me by just serving up good traffic, but this little stunt has sealed it for me. I’ll be closing my account before the rest of the balance is charged away by you guys.

That sucks. I’ve heard CJ takes money from people that haven’t hit the payout threshold yet and haven’t made a sale in X days. I can’t remember the time duration, but I guess it’s their way of slowly taking the money back for affiliates that don’t continually push more sales.

I hate that sh*t.

Overture/YSM got rid of the minimum spend a while ago, which was great, but then a bunch of places decided to *implement* that policy! CJ, Clickbank, Pulse360, etc.

It really irks me, especially when it’s unexpected like that!

I don’t think third tier networks can survive using scammy tactics like that. Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll steer clear. What a scam.

One Question about YSM here – they say they have a minimum of 25€ per month to spend on accounts. Does that mean they charge 25€ every month automatically but actually won’t effect your current balance?

Thanks.

Having been around this business for a long time now, and a user of almost all distribution channels, I can assure you this is not a scam. Think about the amount of people that come bye a site like this and open an account and drop a ton of info in it and do nothing with it. I think its a great way for a company to weed out “real” advertisers. Pulse360 is a company i use for alot of my clients and that is based on the results I get for my clients. The best thing you do before starting with a new network is ask if they have a minimum spend policy or in your words a minimum spend “scam”.
