Well the weather is finally cooling down enough (high of only 99 today) to where you can actually go outside after 6am and not melt. So after working an hour or so this morning, I decided to cut out for a mountain bike ride. Riding over a freeway bridge to get to the mountain, I noticed all the cars dead stopped in both directions for their morning commute. I could almost see the desperation in the drivers’ eyes. At that moment it really struck me, the amazing gift it is to not have a 9 to 5 job anymore, and to be able to work from home. Just a short while ago, that used to be me down there on the freeway, wasting 2 hours of my life every day. I just can’t put a price on the freedom that Internet Marketing has given me. Putting the money aside, being able to set my own hours, not answer to a job or boss, working when I want from where I want; these things are the most important and greatest things to me. Sure I work as many hours as the people on the freeway, but I work when I want, not some company. If you are just starting out trying to break into this field, keep working hard because the payoff of getting out of the rat race is worth it 100 times over!

Well said. One of the driving forces I believe led me to be successful with affiliate marketing was the prospect of not having to work for somebody else.
Take a vacation when you want, take a day off when you want, get up when you want, go to bed when you want, eat when you want, work when you want, all without having to ask permission — it really doesn’t get any better than that.
Rush hour commutes are such a waste.
Is that a Titus Motolite? Looks like it but your leg is in front of the logo
Sucker, you know your bikes! Indeed it is a Motolite. Here’s a better pic: http://www.cdfnetworks.com/images/titus-alta.jpg
Hey, it looks like there are quite a few of us that are mountain bikers!
Maybe there should be an affiliate marketing conference in Moab someday!
I’d be all over that. Been there 3 times, but always ready for some slickrock.
Right on, Chad! Thanks for the encouragement. Hey, do you live in the Bay Area?
Tim, no I’m in Phoenix.
nothing compares to the freedom of running your own business… especially an online business work anywhere that has internet
It does seem like a high percentage of super affiliates are mountain bikers. I wonder what that means
Chad,
If you ever get the chance, you ought to ride out in the Bay Area north of SF where I live. Mountain Biking was invented right in my back yard! They’ve closed a lot of the better trails over the years as hikers have complained about getting hit but there are still a few left.
Working 9-5s is the worst. Glad to see you out of the rat race, I am just about there myself
. Nothing beats being able to do whatever you want whenever you want
.
Where in Phoenix you at? I’m in Scottsdale and the weather rocks right now!
