Valentines day is almost here. For affiliate marketers, it’s one of the biggest days of the year. Hopefully your advanced preparation for the holiday began weeks or even months ago. It’s really too late to start a new campaign before the traffic hits. But assuming you have the campaigns in place and everything is optimized and humming along, don’t forget these last minute things to gear up for the surge.
1. Switch your offer landing pages. On most affiliate networks, there are multiple landing page creatives you can use. If the offer is seasonal at all, there should be a Valentine’s day creative. If not ask your AM. These Valentines day pages convert even better on the big day. (Don’t forget to set a reminder to yourself to switch back after the holiday)
2. Load up your PPC accounts with money. If you have your accounts set to prepaid mode, be sure to make big deposits now. There’s nothing worse than running out of money and having your accounts paused in the heat of the conversion frenzy.
3. Raise or turn off your budgets for your campaigns. Again, you don’t want anything stopping your campaigns when the click number takes off.
4. Double check your landing pages, and make sure your monitoring is still working. There’s nothing worse than sending a ton of holiday clicks to a dead page.
Good luck to everyone, hope you set new records!

Booya, time to make some money.
Wow – I’ve never done a seasonal campaign before. Over the weekend I have been weeding out keywords for valentine’s day profit central.. I figured I’d have less volume more profit, turns out I have MORE volume and LOTS more profit
Are you going to be at ASW Chad?
Chad –
I have done some PPC marketing before but have yet to venture into the CPA networks. I have only recently discovered your blog and I see that there is another world out there besides Clickbank and CJ. I am really excited about the opportunity and plan to focus on PPC/CPA with networks like Azoogle and NeverBlueads.
In reading your post the following statement of yours caught my eye: “On most affiliate networks, there are multiple landing page creatives you can use.”
With this statement are you saying that many of these CPA programs will provide the landing page for us PPC marketers to us? And if so, do you put the lander on your own domain with relevant content on other pages within the site to increase Quality Score. And then just send traffic directly from the ad to the lander?
Generating traffic has never been a problem for me. Developing landing pages that convert the traffic is where I have struggled.
Any thoughts you have on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Please pardon this second post, but I want to point out a mistake I made in the first sentence of the third paragraph.
This sentence should read:
“With this statement are you saying that many of these CPA programs will provide the landing page for PPC marketers to use?”
The last word of the sentence should be “use” not “us.”
ok, thanks.
Man I am reading this after val. but I tell you what I did use ppc during the period to wreck in some ……… you know . it was good
