The Local Lead Plan is pretty comprehensive, although if you’d like to become a master at the lead generation game, you will probably find yourself heading to the library or bookstore to pick up additional books on prospecting and sales closing when you decide to scale your business on a massive scale.

I’m sure most would agree that the hardest part about local lead generation is getting clients. In addition to the usual way of getting clients – hiring sales reps, going to mixers, Chamber of Commerce, Meetup groups, etc – I’ve found that partnering up with other sales professionals seem to be a profitable route.

In a past world, I did this without fail. I would go to Craigslist and post a job request in the “Sales” section. I would mention that I’m looking for anyone currently doing “face-to-face” or “outstide” sales that is looking to supplement their current income.

I partnered up with a pharmaceutical sales rep and a merchant service sales rep (the guys who sell the credit card machines) and they cross-promoted my services to their prospects and clients. Just from those two sources alone I had a stream of business. I would 1090 both people and there really wasn’t a conflict of interest.

Of course, you can rinse and repeat this process on CL and you can also empower your sales contractors to build their own teams so that they can get an override of any clients their team brings in. All it takes is ONE good client to really make this lead generation process work. With Chad’s templates and sample contracts, I can’t see how you can go wrong.

I’m about to launch a hyperlocal news site for my city and certainly a directory section targeting (local) company categories is something to consider.

Rank ‘em high for a oft-searched-for, and geocentric keyword phrases (as in rank #1 for it), and charge local businesses to sponsor or otherwise have exclusive advertising on that page.

One of the best things about Geotargeting ecommerce is that internet marketers are a little more likely to share what’s working for them, since other marketers are in different cities and therefore not direct competition.

Plus a lot of big companies (ie. AOL) have turned their eyes toward hyperlocal news sites too, and you can bet they’ll be battling us small guys for local advertising as well. >:(

I’m always eager to read anything that you have to say and will probably buy a copy anyway because I am grateful for how you’ve given away such a huge amount of awesome info on this blog over the years.

I already do some local lead gen/PPC/SEO but I am positive I would learn a lot from you. Thanks Chad!
