New look for CDF Networks

Welcome to the fresh new CDF Networks blog! I am really happy with the new layout and the way it will accommodate our continuing growth. There are a few things you might notice:

  • Content. First and foremost the new layout is all about the content. Better and easier access to posts was the number one reason for the change. As well as placing recent and popular posts at the top of the screen, the category archives have been completely reorganized to better access past information.
  • Better community. Comments are now easier to post and reply to. Hopefully this will encourage more frequent posting by our readers.
  • Advertising. We now offer some advertising space on a monthly basis (contact us for pricing). It was important to me to keep this to a minimum and not overly monetize this site. So instead of the standard 8 or 6 125×125 pixel ads, we will offer 4. Instead of 5 adzones, we offer only 2. This not only provides a better result for the advertisers, but a cleaner and uncluttered design.

We have big plans for the site coming up so stay tuned. There are some great posts in the works, a new widget I guarantee you are going to want!

So how do you like the new look?

I am impartial, but I love it :) Thank you for the opportunity to design your website. It was fun and looks really good. :)

Dude, you went to all this trouble with the redesign, but kept your horrible-ugly-1970s-Tron-esque logo?

Don’t listen to him. The logo is fine. The new design rocks! :)

Great stuff Chad. Looks good. I think the featured articles row is too big in height. We have to scroll down to read the post. May be you can limit it to 5 top posts instead 12-13.

Thanks for the input, everything is still being tweaked right now.

The new design looks great. I second Gagan’s idea to limit featured posts to top 5-7 instead of 12-13.

Good to see you kept the focus on the content and didnt give into the recent trend of a heap of advertising!

I really love your new look. It looks really smart. Hopefully those Ad slots will fill up soon!

I took your guy’s advice and reduced the number of posts at the top.
