Want to make more money online? Stop reading so many blogs.

Like the title says, if you want to make more money online, stop reading so many “make money online” blogs. This may sound funny coming from a blogger, but I’m a blogger second, Search Engine Marketer first. I’ve noticed this phenomenon with myself recently. I had a ton of blogs I subscribed to, and spent way to much time everyday reading them. That was time that could be better spent testing and trying my own ideas. Sure, you need to stay on top of the industry, but I’d say you could do that with 4 blogs just as easily as 20. Most of the blogs in the make money online niche are just rehashing the same content with themselves and don’t really have any fresh content. So I cut my blog list that I read daily by about 75%, and you know what? I started making more money again. There are only so many hours in the day, use them wisely. Just please keep this particular blog on your short list :)

That is a great point. We spend so much time learning that we don’t have time to do the stuff.

I have actually just started to set aside certain parts of the day for certain jobs, so I will only read blogs in the allotted times.

I’m subscribed to 800 blogs.

Very good point, I was thinking on the same lines myself. Tooo Much time goes into reading them and when the time comes to write, BLANK. Minds too tired to think clearly!

@Wesley – Dude, take it easy! 800?? Even 80 is hard to track!

Yep, I stick to a few blogs, but usually end up reading a bunch anyway, and it sure wastes time!

Absolutely right. There are only 5 or 6 I have found to be truly well written and full of good information. Yours is definitely one of them.

Not to mention several ‘rich’ bloggers are not writing anything in their blog except product reviews and “I break my record $1000 a day, but I won’ tell you anything about my niche, congratulation to myself”. There seem to be so many of those kind of posts in my feed lately. Thankfully at least this blog doesn’t start posting about endless record breaking sales. Read tons of useful tips here!

I’m curious. How much TV do you watch? If you cut out TV, you can find time for 100+ RSS feeds.

If you cut out sleep entirely and you can probably do 500+.
